‘Kudu Dileepa’ arrested with firearms

The notorious drug trafficker known as Dilip Tharanga Hettiarachchi alias ‘Kudu Dileepa’ had been arrested with two firearms on Saturday by the STF in Wellampitiya, the Police said.
They said the suspect was arrested during a raid carried out on Saturday following a tip-off.

Initially, the STF recovered a foreign-made pistol from the suspect’s possession.

During the search of the suspect’s house at Wellampitiya, the STF found an air rifle and three swords.
He was later handed over to the Wellampitiya Police.
