Violation of election laws PAFFREL reports 102 cases during silent period

There have been 102 confirmed cases of violation of election laws during the silent period which included 71 cases if illegal propaganda, Peoples Action for Free and Fair Election (PAFFREL) said yesterday.   


There have been 71 instances of carrying out illegal campaigning during the silent period as per the report put out by PAFFREL last evening. There have been three acts of violence during the stipulated period, one case of abuse of state power, 15 cases of giving incentives with political objectives, one instance where irregularities in ballot papers, four cases of violating medical laws.   


There have been a total of 2,084 violations of electoral laws during the pre-election period according to PAFFREL. This comprises 1,300 cases of illegal propaganda, 71 cases of serious violence, 79 cases of illegal use of state property and state power, 194 cases of cases of giving incentives with political objectives and 335 cases of health laws.
