Paddy harvested after 30 years in the Vanni District

The Vanni District paddy cultivation carried out after 30 years took place at Etamangaskada tract in Vavuniya in a grand way.   

The ceremony was organised under the guidance of North and East Deputy Sanghanayake the Ven. Etamangaskada Kalyanatissa Thera.   
 Vavuniya Government Agent Saman Bandulasena and Vanni Security Forces Commander Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri were the chief guests. Ven. Kalyanatissa Thera said the paddy fields in the Vanni district had been abandoned during the 30 years of military conflicts and the prolonged drought.   

Vavuniya South Divisional Secretary and representatives of farmer organizations were present at the occasion.
