New Zealand, which is ranked No. 1 in the “ease of doing business” index, has said it would be happy to provide assistance to Sri Lanka to get its rank improved in the index.
New Zealand High Commissioner Joanna Kempkers expressed this upon calling on Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees last morning.

A host of matters of mutual interest have been discussed at the meeting, including the long-term cooperation in the dairy industry and animal husbandry.

Prime Minister Rajapaksa said it is a priority for Sri Lanka to improve its ease of doing business to earlier conditions.

With New Zealand currently ranked No.1 among 190 economies in the ease of doing business index, High Commissioner Kempkers said this is an area on which New Zealand would be happy to provide assistance.
