Jaffna International Airport has gone under water at several locations because of the heavy rain in the Jaffna district.

Airport Officials said the floods had not affected any of the buildings or the runway. They hoped the situation would return to normal in a few days.

Jaffna Airport was developed at a cost of Rs.2,250 million and named,  Jaffna International Airport on October 17, by President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. Flight operations are expected to begin next month.
