Driver killed in Diyanagala road accident

One person died and ten others were injured when a van transporting a group of passengers veered off the road and toppled at the 2nd km post in Diyanagala on the Badulla – Passara Road yesterday afternoon.The injured were admitted to the Badulla General Hospital.  

The deceased, the driver- Ratnam Rajendran (55) was a resident of Diyanagala Estate. The van was transporting a group of passengers from Badulla Town to Gannerfield Estate when the  accident occurred.  

A police team of the traffic branch is conducting investigations on the instructions of OIC Badulla Police IP Wehitha Desapriya,
