The case filed by Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage against former Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake could not go ahead as a result of the closure of the Court yesterday.

Mr. Ramanayake told Daily Mirror that he was unable to attend courts  although the hearing was to be held yesterday since the court complex was closed as a result of COVID-19 .

Mr. Aluthgamage had filed a case against Mr. Ramanayake who was contemplating  to assassinate him. The case was filed after a telephone conversation where Mr Ramanayake informed former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe that he  was practising to kill Mr. Altuhgamage with his pistol.

“Many cases filed against me will be obviously delayed, as a result of COVID-19 crisis,”
he said.

Several cases were said to be pending against Mr. Ramanayake including a contempt of
Court case.
