The world has been imprudent in merely promoting and procuring different branches of knowledge and people are left with a barren intellect.
The consequences of such negligence are immeasurable. Humanity is torn apart into divisions and demarcations. It has engendered bitterness and hatred, militancy and terrorism everywhere. The human race is now becoming an endangered species threatened with extinction.
You have the capacity and the expertise to avert this crisis. Arise. Save yourselves. Save the world.”
The above thought-provoking advice has been given by the Vedanta Guru and founder of Vedanta Academy, Shri A. Parthasarathy in his book titled The Fall of the Intellect.
He is an internationally acclaimed philosopher with a multi-disciplined academic base including post-graduation from London University. He has researched for over fifty years on the state of human beings and focused on the urgent need to revive, rehabilitate the human intellect.
He founded the Vedanta Academy in January 1988 in Malavi Hills, 108 kilometres from Mumbai, India. It offers three- year residential courses designed to build intellectual ability and instil higher values of life in students from India and Abroad.
He has published ten books which present ancient philosophical teachings and wisdom of thinkers from East and West. Two of them have earned the best selling status.
I first came to know about this respected Vedanta Guru and his hallowed Academy through Shrimathi. Umayal Venugopal, a senior disciple of him who is responsible for propagating Vedanta Knowledge and Values in India and Sri Lanka.
In my humble opinion, it could be started as early as the 20s. At this age, one could gradually increase the intensity of acquiring knowledge on Spiritual life Education and be fully prepared to meet the challenges in life fully confidently in the latter part of his or her life.
