S. Thomas’ college Class Heads’ Dinner S. Thomas’ College OBA completes 4th edition of the Class Heads Dinner hosted by Warden Rev. Marc Billimoria

The Class Heads Dinner 2019 hosted by Warden Rev. Marc Billimoria was held on November 22 at the Senior Quadrangle Building Auditorium followed by dinner at the College dining hall.


This years’ dinner which also happened to be the 4th edition of this event was attended by more than 130 prominent Class Group Heads representing 44 Class Groups.


The event commenced with the welcome speech delivered by Asst Secretary Tilan Wickramasinghe who presented the latest initiatives of the S. Thomas’ College OBA which also included the most recently rolled out online payment platform which allows users to make online payments on a range of products including official OBA merchandise, College event tickets, Class Group event tickets and donations to name a few.


This was followed by Dr Rajan Saravanamuttu presenting to the audience the rollout of a 10-year funding plan, which would be diverted towards faculty and career development initiatives of the College.


Dr Saravanamuttu’s presentation was followed by the rollout of the Centennial Club Membership programme which would offer 100 prominent Sports Captains and another 100 prominent Old Boys the opportunity for life membership.


All life members would be eligible to enjoy a series of exclusive benefits such as lifetime gym membership at the proposed new state of the art gymnasium, lifetime usage of selected sporting facilities including the College pool, Lifetime OTSC Membership and free Royal-Thomian Match tickets for all sporting events held at the College being some of the benefits on offer.

 

 

Life members will be eligible to lifetime gym membership, the college pool, and free Royal-Thomian Match tickets 


This years’ event also included a segment by the College Old Thomians’  Cadet Union, where President Mr Suren Dayaratne briefed and updated the audience on the progress of the Gratitude Wall an initiative by  the OTCU to raise funds towards several ongoing infrastructure development projects at College. This was followed by the affiliation of four Class Groups as officially affiliated Class Groups of the STC Mount Lavinia OBA.


Warden Rev. Marc Billimoria addressed the Class Heads in concluding the event before the dinner and mentioned his special thanks to all Class Groups for their continued support towards College and the OBA whilst highlighting several notable achievements made by the present boys over the past 12 months.


The Class Heads Dinner which is now an annual event of the OBA is organized by the Membership Engagement Committee of the OBA.
