Gentleman with pleasant disposition

It is hard for me to believe that Major Malcolm Peiris is no more. He was a much respected gentleman whom I knew for many years.

Major Malcolm Peiris was associated with Ceylon Planters’ Society (CPS). He also held the office as chairman in addition to being an ex-officio member of the executive committee and council. He always exhibited his competencies and conducted meetings with decorum; his main concern was the welfare of unfortunate brethren.

I must say that I gained much by observing Major Malcolm Peiris at meetings he presided. His motive was being helpful to others, to live in peace and harmony. We mourn the loss of a caring gentle giant, a true friend and resolute leader!

I am certain that God will reward him with a place in his heavenly abode. At this grief-stricken moment, I extend my deepest sympathies to his beloved wife Yolande Peiris and to all bereaved family members.
