Wes and Payimpath Festival Helakala Dancing Academy Holds of second batch of students

The Panadura Helakala Narthayathanaya Dancing Academy of Wattalpola headed by Nandana Chandralal recently graduated the second batch of students during the Colourful Wes and Payimpath Mangalyaya held at the Panadura Sri Saddharmarajaramaya amidst a large gathering.

Nandana Chandralal who had learnt traditional dance forms from veterans in the field, also studied the art of costume and jewellery designing involving dancing.


Nandana Chandralal is ably supported by his wife Srimathi Navaratne who is a graduate of the Kelaniya University and student of Ravibandu Vidyapathy. Helakala Dance Academy which has completed 20 years of service in the field of arts, grooming young talent has so far held dance concerts and other exhibitions too.


Nandana-Srimathi’s son Sadev Athsara and daughter Sathmi Thathsari were also among those who advanced to the next level in traditional dancing at the recent Wes and Payimpath festival.
