It seems this action star listens to his family when it comes to many things — even who to cast in the latest sequel in his blockbuster action franchise.  During a recent visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live, brawny actor Vin Diesel discussed some of the new additions to the cast of F9, the unbelievable NINTH installment of the Fast & Furious franchise.

Among the celebrated stars Diesel, 52, listed were John Cena, as well as rapper Cardi B, who Vin said was personally requested to be cast in the film by none other than his youngest daughter Pauline, who turns five next week.

'My daughter wanted a piece of casting to happen,’ the Pitch Black star told the late night host. ‘So Cardi B is in it!’

Vin went on to explain that Pauline made the demand while listening to Cardi’s track I Like It.

When Kimmel pressed for more information about how Miss B will fit into the F&F narrative, Diesel explained that the process involved ‘working with the writers’ and that they had ‘to create a role [for her] that would work for the mythology.’

Vin went on to say that now, after 20 years of making the (incredibly financially successful) Fast & Furious movies, Oscar winners regularly hit him up requesting to appear in an installment.
While Academy Award-winners Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren are already staples of the franchise (with both set to again appear in the upcoming F9), Diesel teased that more thesps might yet show up — but he then said he had to stay mum on that for now, for fear of spoilers ahead of the new film’s May 22nd release.

Cardi, 27, will be making her feature film follow-up appearance in the car chase movie, after her cameo in last year’s Jlo-starrer Hustlers.

Vin shares Pauline with his Mexican supermodel wife Paloma Jiménez, to whom he’s been married since 2007.

They are also parents to older daughter Hania Riley, 11, and son Vincent, ten.

Even before F9’s May release, Diesel has another big budget action film coming out — the comic book movie Bloodshot, which hits theatres this Friday.
