DPA, 07th NOVEMBER, 2019 - Iran plans to begin enriching uranium again at its Fordow nuclear facility at the weekend, a move that contravenes a 2015 international deal that sought to prevent the country from developing nuclear weapons.

While Iran announced this step on Thursday, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) board held an emergency session in Vienna to discuss indications that Tehran has recently raised obstacles in its cooperation with IAEA inspectors.

Some 2,000 kilograms of uranium gas have been shipped to the Fordow nuclear facility and injected into 1,044 centrifuges, which until this point
had been inactive.

The centrifuges still need to be stabilized, which will take until the weekend, Iranian nuclear organization (AEOI) spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi told the ISNA news agency on Thursday. Then the uranium enrichment to 4.5 per cent can begin.
