SJB will unite democratic forces to defeat 20A

• A series of programmes for SJB organised at village level in every district during weekends

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will unite all democratic forces to defeat the 20th Amendment to the constitution, Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa said over the weekend.    

“We are against the 20th Amendment to the constitution, and we shall unite all democratic forces against it and see that it is defeated,” Mr. Premadasa said during his tour to the Galle and Matara Districts during the weekend.   
“We have begun a series of programmes to organise SJB at village level and shall visit every district during weekends. We will visit Anuradhapura next week and Puttalam and Kurunegala on the following weekend. We shall also launch welfare programmes and revive “Sasunata Aruna” programme and assist the temples and places of worship. In addition we shall also organise a green movement in every village under which there would be tree planting campaigns. SJB will make a contribution towards increasing the country’s forest cover,” Mr. Premadasa said when he visited several temples.  “Politically powerful persons are involved in land clearance and environmental pollution,” he alleged while speaking to some journalists during his tour to the two districts.
