Ranjan reaped what he sowed

• Says release of Pilleyan and Ranjan's sentence unrelated

Asserting that the government does not indulge in vindictive politics, Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said that the imprisonment of Ranjan Ramanayake was a result of his unguarded mouth.   

At a meeting in Moneragala, the minister said what befell Ranjan was the Karmic reaction to his actions.  

He said the Executive, the Legislature and the judiciary were vilified by the previous government and Ranjan played a key part of it.  
The Minister said that release of Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pilleyan and Ranjan’s imprisonment were unrelated.   

“That is why I say that Ranjan reaped what he sowed. There is no use of pointing the finger at the government,” he said
