Police stop businessman’s function at luxury hotel

The Kollupitya police have launched an investigation into the function of a businessman’s son being held at a luxury hotel in Colombo, violating the police curfew imposed over the weekend, Police said.  

 Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said legal action would be taken against the management of the hotel as well as the organisers of the reception for violating quarantine regulations.   
At least 35 participants had attended the ceremony.   
However, the Police had immediately halted the proceedings and had ordered to cancel the reception.
