The Parliament Complex was closed for two days beginning from yesterday as it has been decided to disinfect the complex with immediate effect.

Parliament’s Secretary General Dammika Dassanayake said this decision was made after a sub-inspector who has been in charge of the Police officers’ kitchen and canteen which are outside the Parliamentary Complex was found COVID-19 positive last week.

Accordingly the staff  attached to the complex were asked to stay at home.

“The complex will be opened on Wednesday October 28, 2020 so that MPs could obtain whatever services they need,” the Secretary General said.
