UNF led alliance’s presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa yesterday said he is not afraid of any international power and is ready to face allegations which are being made by the international community against Sri Lanka.

“ Premadasas are not afraid of any one and will not bow down to any condition laid out by the international community,” he told a public rally in Kekirawa yesterday.
“ I will not betray the security forces like my opponents,” he said.

He also pledged to provide fertilizer free of charge to paddy farmers, fruits and vegetable growers and to the plantation sector. “I have not forgotten the fruits, vegetable growers and those in the plantation sector like my opponent,” he said.

Mr. Premadasa said he would introduce controlled prices for paddy. He therefore said there will be a controlled price of Rs 50 a kilo and that this would be backed by a Bill.
He also pledged to introduce a system where all the issues faced by the people will be resolved within 24 hours through the special development presidential task force units that would be set up under each divisional secretariat office.

Coming up with more promises, Mr Premadasa said lands will be given free of charge to soldiers under his government. Also he said the monies charged by the soldiers including from those who are residing at Eplogama Ranawiru village will be reimbursed to the security personnel.

“Some may ask as to how I am going to find funds to implement what I intend to introduce. My late father provided Jana saviya, free mid day meals for school children and provided school uniforms while facing two rebellions at the same time. President Ranasinghe Premadasa’s son can do much more than him,” Mr Premadasa said.
