A house in the Colombo 6 was sealed earlier today after two people, who had recently returned from India were removed by PHI officers and police, to the isolation center or hospital, eyewitnesses said.

A medical team had arrived at the house, in the early hours of yesterday and removed the couple, after which the entire house was disinfected and sealed.

It is still unsure if those removed from the house had tested positive to the coronavirus infection. The Police have warned all those who have returned to the country after March 16 to register at the nearest police station or face arrest.

A grace period was granted till April 1, with the police warning returnees that if they fail to register, they will never be able allowed to leave the country again.

Military sources told Daily Mirror that medical officers, military and police personnel were on the hunt for isolated cases which posed the biggest threat with those being detected admitted to hospitals.
