The Opposition yesterday alleged that the no-confidence motion (NCM) against Minister Rishad Bathiudeen was delayed till June so as to clear him from all charges, through the Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to probe the Easter Sunday attack.

UPFA MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage said the government was planning to take the NCM against Minister Bathiudeen after clearing him from charges against him.

“The government is planning to get an interim report of the PSC within two weeks and bring in the NCM in a move to justify Bathiudeen and clear him,” he said.

He said Minister Bathiudeen had an opportunity to get himself cleared from all charges when the debate was taken up and added that delaying the NCM

was wrong.
