Father kills suspect who abused his daughter

A man who is alleged to have killed the suspect accused of sexually abusing his ten-year-old daughter surrendered to the Galkiriyagama Police yesterday.   

 

 

 

 

He traced the suspect to a hideout 

 

 

 

 

The deceased was identified as Dissanayake Mudiyanselage Dissanayake, a 47-year-old father of three children. 


The Police said the suspect had arrived at the house of the child and had taken her on his motorcycle to a coconut estate where he had sexually abused the child. The suspect had warned the girl not to reveal this to anyone and sent her away giving her Rs.50.    A few days later the child had informed her mother, who had then complained to the police. During the investigation the police found that the suspect had fled the area. The suspect’s motorcycle was taken into custody by the police.   


Meanwhile, the father having traced the suspect’s hideout and had given him a severe beating resulting in the suspect’s death.  


The child’s father had then surrendered himself to the police. Police sources said the father is a disabled soldier and was produced in courts yesterday. 


Investigations are continuing under the direction of Galkiriyagama OIC W.C. Perera.
