Daily Covid- 19 caseload exceed 2000 for the first time

The daily Covid-19 cases exceeded 2000 for the first time yesterday since the outbreak of the disease last year, according to the updates certified by the Director General of Health Services.  

As many as 2,659 cases were reported yesterday and it is the highest ever number recorded in the country. The government has imposed localized lockdowns in a move to curb the spread of the coronavirus. The mass inoculation drive against Covid-19 has been accelerated following the WHO approval for the rollout of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine.
