Officials attached to the Batticaloa Campus and HIRA Foundation – that were mired in controversy for its funding following the dastardly Easter Sunday attacks – have been summoned to appear before the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) today, parliamentary sources said.

Commenting on this, the COPE Spokesman said eight public enterprises including Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) would appear before COPE in the next three weeks to investigate their performance and progress.

Accordingly, officials of the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau will appear before COPE on September 18 while board members and high-ranking officials of SLC and Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team will appear on September 19.  Progress of the Institute of Indigenous  Medicine and Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) will be examined on September 20 and October 8 respectively.
