7 children, 3 mothers test positive for COVID-19 at Lady Ridgeway Hospital

• All of them were reported as contacts of the Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster
• Infected children were between 15 months and 12 years and residents of Colombo area

Seven children and three mothers at the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital in Borella tested positive for Covid-19, Hospital Director G. Wijesuriya said yesterday.  

He said all of them were reported as contacts of the Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster.  

Dr. Wijesuriya said the infected children were between 15 months and 12 years and residents of Colombo area.  
He said there was no risk for the Hospital staff as a special mechanism was in place at the Hospital.  
He said the infected patients were transferred to the IDH Hospital for treatment.  
The Director advised parents to take extra care when dealing with children these days.
