463 PCR tests done in Parliament yesterday

Around  463 PCR tests have been carried out in Parliament yesterday, that included  Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene, MPs, staff, security personnel and  police on duty at the Parliamentary premises, Sergeant-at-Arms Narendra  Fernando said yesterday.

Mr.  Fernando told the Daily Mirror that PCR tests were carried out on 15 MPs  including Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene. Another 448 tests were done on on Parliament staff, security forces and police on duty  at Parliamentary complex. 

Also  he said state Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana has been tested negative.”  PCR tests were not carried out on any prominent members such as the Leader  of the House, Chief Government Whip or others. 

Moreover, PCR tests were done on a few Opposition MPs as well,” he added. 

“We will be carrying out more tests on Friday as well,” he said.
