President Gotabaya makes key appointments

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday made several key appointments in his new administration.

Dr. P.B. Jayasundara, the powerful Treasury Secretary of Mahindra Rajapaksa government up to 2015, was appointed as Secretary to the President while Major General (Retd.) Kamal Gunaratne was appointed as the Secretary to the Defence Ministry.

Former Central Bank Deputy Governor S. R. Attygalle was appointed as the Secretary to the Treasury and the Ministry of Finance.

Meanwhile, according to President’s Media Division, Oshada Senanayake was appointed as the Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL).
