Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council Chairman visits Sri Lanka

The Chairman of  Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, Lord Marland of Odstock was in Sri Lanka recently. 


Jonathan Marland is one of the leading  businessmen  in Britain and former Treasurer of the Conservative Party.  He served as the Minister for Trade and Minister for Climate Change. He is a founding director of Jardine Lloyd Thompson plc, the multinational insurance business and  AppleClaim, the insurance company, at Lloyd’s of London.  


He acquired Hunter Wellington Boots and Insurance Capital Partners. Lord Marland is Chairman of Jubilee Holdings Ltd and a director of Insurance Capital Partners Ltd, TestMatchExtra.com Ltd and Wisden Cricketer Publishing Ltd. He is also the Chairman of Tickets For Troops and a Trustee of The Mayor of London’s Fund for Young Musicians, Peggy Guggenheim Museum (UK), The Churchill Centre, The Atlantic Partnership and Invercauld Estate.

During his visit, he was felicitated by Niranjan De S Deva Aditya to mark the United Kingdom’s post Brexit Global Britain strategy.


Those present at the felicitation included British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Sarah Hulton,  Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, Ranil Wickremesinghe, Sajit Premadasa , Nimal Siripala de Silva, Prof GL Peiris, Arundika Fernando,  Admiral Prof Jayanath Colombage, Nivard Cabraal, and the Chairman Aitkne Spence, Harry Jayawardene.
