Green chair to get the chop?

A move is afoot to replace the current chair of the Green party with a new face, they say. 

The incumbent of the party chair hailing from the Kegalle District is facing the chop for defying the party leadership.

The incumbent chair had in the recent past come under severe flak from several loyalists of the party leader for not cooperating with the latter. The leader’s closest loyalist from Kandy holding an important office in the august assembly, in particular, had fired a broadside at the incumbent recently. 

According to the moves reportedly being made behind the scene the current chair is likely to be replaced by a wealthy businessman- politico hailing from a distant district.
