The Green party chief had the other day sent for the party’s anti-drug campaigner who is creating a lot of hullabaloo in the country these days calling some unnamed Diyawanna members cocaine addicts.
When the actor-turned politico called on him that evening itself, the Green chief had asked him why he was calling Diyawanna members cocaine addicts indiscriminately.
The politico in response placed before his chief all evidence he had collected about the cocaine user- Diyawanna members.
After giving an attentive ear to the anti-drug campaigner, the chief told him: “If you start telling all these stories, now here and now there in public, it would show all of us in a bad light! My advice to you is you had better give all the information you have collected to the Committee on Drugs we have appointed once and for all and stop gabbing about it thereafter!”
The politico smiled derisively, and his body language showed that it was an order that he could not obey.
“Why are you cringing?” the chief asked angrily.
“How can I, Sir, lay all these evidence before the committee when so and so is also a committee member. Please peruse the list I just showed you. His name is also on it!”
“His being on the committee need not deter you from giving your information to the committee. Go for God’s sake go! Place all your evidence before the committee!” the chief issued his final edict.
The anti-drug campaigner appeared before the Drug Committee the following day itself.
