Fishing in troubled waters?

Irresponsible statements being made by some public figures pointing accusing fingers at various parties have set a poser to national security high-ups, they say. 

They have decided to tell the authorities in the highest echelons that the allegations being bandied about in public are an impediment to the ongoing investigations. 

The intelligence high-ups have said: “We are trying to contain a terrorist threat posed by an international outfit. But two public figures, one from Colombo and the other from Kalutara have started making various allegations in a bid to localize the crisis!”

They complain that these public figures are making statements calculated to win Muslim votes.
