No one should be surprised at this as the international community is highly influenced by the LTTE diaspora campaign rallies, large covert contributions to politicians, influencing the liberal press etc.
Its time our diplomats contact influential politicians and counter this negative propaganda by the elements of the LTTE resident in the countries of the west. Let them come visit the North and East of the Island and see for themselves the progress being made and let them talk to the Tamil residents who suffered at the hands of the LTTE violence.
