A total of 31 passengers including 28 schoolchildren had been admitted to the Dickoya base hospital when their school bus skidded off the road and plunged down a 20 foot precipice yesterday, the Police said. Three elders who went along with the children were among those injured.
They said the incident had occurred at 3.00 p.m. yesterday at Wanarajah Estate on the Hatton-Bogawantalawa main road.
The students belonged to an international school in Hatton and the tragedy occurred when the bus was returning home after they had participated in a religious ceremony
