Candidates violating laws

E-mail Print
The Welikada Magistrate, hearing a case today, noted that except for two candidates all the others have violated the election regulations. The Magistrate said this when the police attempted to frame charges against a polling booth agent of General Sarath Fonseka.

The police told the Court that the agent had violated election regulations by distributing a video of General Sarath Fonseka. However the police were unable to say where the CD was distributed.  The Magistrate later granted bail for the suspect.  (TFT)
