MR against UNP air deals

E-mail Print

President Mahinda Rajapaksa says agreements signed by the UNP regime with some international airlines had hampered the expansion of Sri Lanka’s national carrier, Sri Lankan airlines.

Addressing a function held at the Central Bank Auditorium in connection with the presentation of the Central Bank 2009 annual report, President Rajapaksa stressed that government must not reach agreements without considering the country and its people.

“The country has faced difficulties due to those agreements. They should have thought about the security and development of the country before signing them. It is like handing over the North-East to the LTTE that betrayed our intelligence wing,” President Rajapaksa said. (SJ)

Also His Excellency MR forgot to state that how the country & it's people were benefited from his own Government's exemplary positive agreements like 'Oil Hedging', 'Mihin Lanka', 'MiG-27'...etc.

And there are "patriotic Sri Lankan's" to believe this allegation.... When Emirates was managing Sri Lankan, it was one of Asia's finest Air Lines. Now you can't step into it....! Progression is not betraying your mother land but truly having it's best interest at heart....!

Please stop finding faults of the past. Take care of the present without doing the same past mistakes. People are more matured now than before. They will judge you on your actions.

Could this be an excuse to close down Sri Lankan Airlines & make Mihin the National Carrier? That's all we need.
