Scrapping of Halal logo: UNP welcomes

E-mail Print
The United National Party (UNP) today welcomed the scrapping of the Halal logo in Sri Lanka, UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake said.

Attanayake said it is positive step taken to preserve the peace and goodwill among the various communities in Sri Lanka.

“UNP hopes this will lead to the re-establishment of the mutual ties that existed between the Sinhalese and the Muslims,” he said. (YP)

Tissa mind your business. No need to welcome. Muslim and Sinhalese are always friends from the begining. You don't try to create problems and panic between the two community.

A "positive step taken to preserve the peace and goodwill among the various communities in Sri Lanka."? Really? Which Sri Lanka is he talking about? There must be another Sri Lanka, for this one (the one we're living in, aka 'The Miracle of Asia'), is still a long way from resolving the problem. Sadly.
