Foreigners caught operating a brothel in Kollupitiya

Nine suspects including two Thai women and a Chinese woman were yesterday arrested on charges of having operated a brothel in Kollupitiya.

Among the arrested were also five Sri Lankan women between the ages of 24 and 34 and the brothel manager.

The arrests were made by the Colombo Anti Vice Squad last night.

The Police said the brothel was being operated under the guise of a night club.

The Kollupitiya Police are conducting further investigations.

A legalized sex trade means a monitored sex trade (ie frequent health checks and so on)plus a possible control on human trafficking.

FYI - AID/HIV and so on are not just passed through unsafe sex... you can also contract aids and many other diseases through unsterilized surgical equipment, hiperdermic needles, blood and organs that haven't been screened before transplant etc
