Indian man & Lankan woman eat Gold

E-mail Print
Police have arrested an unidentified couple — an Indian man and a Sri Lankan woman — for attempting to steal jewelry from a shop in Mubarakiya, reports Al-Shahed daily.

A security source said the pair asked the Indian salesman to show them some rings and chains. The suspects then allegedly stole the rings and all attempts by the salesman to find the rings on their person failed, he called the police.

The pair denied stealing the rings and the salesman insisted the rings were missing. The pair then was referred to a hospital for X-ray under police guard and the film showed the rings in their stomach.

The two thieves were then administered laxatives to help them purge the stolen items. They have been detained at the Salhiya Police Station. (Arab Times Online)
