Three officers-in-charge (OICs) of three police stations in the Wayamba Province have been interdicted by Senior DIG Ashoka Wijetilleka over alleged cases of assault taken place in 2012, police said.

These officers were OICs of Rasnayakepura police station, Saliyawewa police station and Kosswatta police station.

Police carried out  a probe against the suspects after a man complained that his wife and  child were kidnapped by these suspects who were then attached
to the Negombo Police. (Jude Samantha)
