Lawyers should be brought before privilege committee-Wimal

E-mail Print
Minister Wimal Weeraswansa said that all lawyers and others who work against the legislature should be brought before the privilege committee and should be severely dealt with.

Mr. Weerwansa, who was also a member of the select committee, which looked into the impeachment motion told a news conference that he would not stop talking of shortcomings in the Judiciary even if he is made to serve one hundred prison sentences. (Yohan Perera)

If judiciary is corrupted on when act in a corrupt manner, Legislature is the final stop available to the citizens of Sri lanka to resolve these issues. If Legislature is corrupted, the constitution allows the citizens the privilege and ability to send them home through the election process. We don't need any interpretation further. Enough is Enough.

What if the election process is corrupted? There is a quick way out. Compare the wealth of all politicians before and after entering politics. If they cannot explain the rise in wealth, take them to courts. Again you need Judges to help you.

What right do these self appointed kangaroo committees have to summon members of the public, let alone punish them?

How about staging another "farce" unto death in front of Hulftsdorp (this time without Lemon Puff). This joker, who has not even passed 8th standard in school is trying to teach law to lawyers and judges. It is high time the President, if he is serious about governing this country, put this and the other joker Mervyn Silva under leash. Otherwiise, what happened to the King who kept a monkey as his bodyguard will happen to him.

Next step is to issue warrant to UN and Barrack Obama? First should punish people who appoint you like this to the parliament.

Yes, I agree. All lawyers are not genuine. They are doing politics.
Gini Kanno.
They should do the work releated to Judiciary not the politics.
Sri Lanka has enough indipendence on Judiciary works.
What Indipendenct they want still they are unable to punish the culprit on Barath Laxman Murder Case.
They are working for money not for indipendence.
