Suspect injured in police fire

A person was injured by police fire when he allegedly attempted to grab the weapon of a police sergeant in Koggalla , Ambalanthota area last evening, police said.

A police team that was patrolling had arrived in the area on a complaint made to the police via 119 over an assault incident. When the police tried to arrest a suspect, a gang that had been in the vicinity had attacked the police with clubs and damaged the police three-wheeler. The police had shot one of the assailants who had tried to grab the weapon of a policeman.

The suspect and two policemen who were injured in the incident were admitted to Hambanthota hospital.

this is what every one thinks when reading this news article.police was so afraid to act on Malaka but on this poor guy.
