That film was produced by a fanatic, not by the American people nor by the government of the USA. These protests are mis-directed.

The US government is taking action against the mischief makers according to their law, not any Muslim law. So why this protest in front of the US embassy.

The intention of the protest is to presurise US government to block the film & take action against those who misused Freedom of expression..
NOT against the people of US as u think..

As long as there are idiots and extremists all our gods will be insulted, but stopping traffic and creating a chaos in Sri Lanka will not help solve the problem. It only inconveniences the woriing people who are not to blame anyway. Do some work and earn a living and let the protests come through proper channels, nobody cares a rats ass about protesters in Sri Lanka.

Yes that is a buddhist religious ceremony and this country has no problem about that but we have a problem when stupid muslim buggers stand on the road with stupid slogans and only cause havoc with the traffic - get real or get out of here to a muslim country where you can stand on the road for the rest of your life protesting.

In this case if they had affronted and disrespected the Buddha, I would pick the wise choice by showing a deaf ear and a blind eye. I expect the same from a true Christian, true Muslim, true Jew, true Hindu and so on. The dog will bark, will dance, will scowl but to no avail as we need not react to such a petty act (A "dog" was used just as a figure of speech to get my point across and by no means as an insult to dogs who happens to be the "man's best friend")

This is not freedom of expression. This is a defamatory film made deliberatly something similar to Buddha bar. If you call this freedom of expression then let the protesters to express their freedom as well.
Iam not a supporter of these kinds of useless protests though. What we are doing is giving that film free publicity.

Freedom of Expression is fine as long as they don't get violent... Sri Lanka is hosting a World Cup and we don't want unnecessary trouble... Protest about the video, we are all against it, its not the 1st time ... and it wont be the last... not only Muslims even Buddhist and Christians have been ridiculed in the past by video's... and other propaganda... So my fellow Muslim Brothers & Sisters please respect the rights to your protests but also practice non-violence. Thank you !

If Akon was not permitted to come into Sri Lanka for filming a music visual insulting the Lord Buddha, no one can say nothing against this protest. Most of all this protest I think is all about the freedom of expression of those who feel they or their religion is been insulted.

I admire there are true Sri Lankans in this forum as one Lankan Boy says " If anyone insult any religion we have to stand again it as a Sri Lankan..."

Tomorrow any other religion is been insulted.. we shall truly unite and protest as one country!

Why people insult religons and it's creaters? No one has right to do that. People should keep their own opinions about other believers to themselves. When you read the basics of all religons, they all say one line. Live in peace and harmony. Be a good person to soceity. Fight the extreamism. Not the religon.

a little while ago a trader in Pettah sold some sarees which carried the lord budhdha image in those sarees. some bikkus went there and took away the sarees in the presesnce of police and i saw them in the sirasa news. police did nothing to stop those bikkus who took the sarees with them. my point is when your religion is attacked there are some to stand against that. its their choice by conviction. do not blame the religion as a whole. a peaceful demonstration without politicians ok with me. no disturbance to public at all.

With the internet news travels within minuets. In fact Islam means peace.
