The Minuwangoda Chief Magistrate and District Judge today issued notice on Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardane to appear in Court on October 5.

District Judge Ruwan Pathirana made this order sequel to a case filed by a businessman at Nilpanagoda in Minuwangoda. The businessman alleged that Deputy Minister sought Rs.25 million as extortion money to a land he purchased in the Nilpanagoda area.

The businessman had filed this lawsuit claiming Rs.100 million from the Deputy Minister as damages. (Keerthi Fernando)

Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Pradeshiya Sabha members: all are like coconuts of the same bunch; Born to exploit others and fill their pockets and when the pockets are full, to pillage and rape.

This is correct. The first urge is to get rich quick. Thereafter the biological urge for pillaging, raping and lusting becomes second nature. This guys face is a revelation of his sordid life style.

Country needs a separate court to hear the cases against politicians since murders, rapes, bribery and corruption charges leveled against them are rapidly increasing in the country during recent past due to non availability of the Independent Commissions.

Politicians are involved in little incidents which should not be overblown. They are decent people.
