No one can fool Gota: Muzammil

Colombo Mayor A.J.M. Muzammil said yesterday no one could fool Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and that the people who had tried to do so had had fallen by the wayside.

“I have argued with several people clamoring to thank Mr. Rajapaksa. I know that no one can fool him, there was a general who tried it and now he is nowhere,” he said.

Mr. Muzammil made these remarks in the presence of Mr. Rajapaksa during the ceremony at the BMICH for the people of Kompannaweediya who are being affected by the ongoing development work in the area.

The Mayor made these remarks after the opposition UPFA members stole the mace of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) yesterday in protest to the Mayor rejecting a proposal to thank the Secretary of Defence. (Hafeel Farisz)

Gota is the greatest Sinhala hero next to King Mahinda. It was Gota who got his brother to appoint Fonseka to the army commanders post and appointed equally capable people to head the Navy and the Air Force. He is the war strategist whose efforts finished off the Tiger Terrorists. All SriLankans should be eternaly greatful to him. While Fonseka led the ground troops as per Goths plans the Airforce bombed the Tiger bunkers and Camps and the Navvy blocked the sea routes so no arms could reach the Tigers and no tigers could escape by sea. There was a saying going the rounds at one time that the muslims always turn towards the side the "kurunjan" in their fez cap turns. This is one vivid example.

Near 2 million sri lankans in the mid east are the biggest money earners for this country bypassing all exports, but the muslims in this country are trampled and trodden by all regimes, all because of fools like him and the other so called leaders of the community!
