Niluka beats world number 8

Sri Lankan captain Niluka Karunarathne beat world number 8 Tago Kenichi in his first round match at the Olympics a short while ago.

Karunarathne comprehensively beat the Japanese 21/16 and 21/18 in the mens single badminton match in the first round of the Olympics.

No he is originally from Dharmashoka College Ambalangoda, later he was taken by Royal Colombo. how ever now he is a national asset. not limited to a school.

Brilliant! Beating the World No.8 is probably the best ever achievement by a Sri Lankan badminton player.
