Courts in North at a standstill

E-mail Print
All lawyers in the North have decided to refrain from court duties today and tomorrow urging the authorities to arrest the suspects who pelted stones at the Mannar District courts.

Work at Vavunia, Kilinochchi, Mulative, Mannar and Jaffna Courts have come to a standstill today due to the boycott by lawyers. Work will commence on Thursday. As a result, the court cases due for these days have been postponed for September and October. (Romesh Madushanka)

I appeal to the learned Lawyers very humbly to bring justice retrospectively to the 100,000 Muslims who were chased out by the LTTE in 1990 by giving 24 hours notice.
Today the Lawyers have the freedom to come out and protest even for small incidents, during the LTTE period all matters were handled by the Kangaroo Courts.

This can be solved easily. Grab a politician and charge him with something and put him jail, pending hearing.. All will be solved within minutes.

Why not they appear free for the following two days, thereby they get the goodwill and support of the people?
