The president has to direct the IGP to do his job? What is wrong with the IGP, he didn't read his job description?

The best way out is to hand over the case to UPFA courts where that whore of Avissawella will appear for the accused.

Well said peeda mosa
See the state of democracy, processes of implementation of law in this country..... ? I wouldn't be surprised if the speaker gave orders, since the minister is covered by parliamentary privileges. But why the president ?

Don't hold your breath if you think justice will prevail. Its only a facade. Either nothing will come of the inquiry or some small fry will be found guilty.

It seems that without the instructions of President the Police Chief is unable to take immediate action regarding this issue. All Public Servants are in the same boat including the Election Commissioner.

this shows the Police Top Brass has to get the 'ok' from Govt to do their official duty, if not nothing happens, no wonder why so many Child Rapes are happening at an alarming rate and murders taking place all over country . We now know who is responsible for these

MR please ask your ministers to be humble and abide by the law and rules of the law of the land. I can recall you said in a world forum that - government only the caretaker of the land and not ruler. Is that correct?

The IGP has to wait for orders from the President along with the conclusions to be reached according to the wishes of the government when it comes to suspects who are part and parcel of the government. Remember, we do not have independent Police commission now, and one man's word is law. Nothing will happen in this case other than the judge getting a transfer or even the sack for not listening to a Minister.

Mr. President there is nothing to probe. Whole people in Mannar knows very well and more importantly Chief Magistrate Mr. A. Judsaan has already lodged a complaint with Police with the name of the minister involved. For GOD sake he is the Chief Magistrate and Police no need the President's directions. This shows police does not care Magistrates orders waiting only for the President to direct them ????

He is your Excellency's Minister, he has broken the law of the country by threatening a Magistrate, ARREST him and then hold an inquiry., as your law do with an ordinary citizen of this country.
