New secretaries for 18 ministries

The Government Information Department said that 18 new secretaries have been appointed to ministries by President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Charitha Herath was appointed as the Secretary to the Ministry of Media.

Dr. P.B Jayasundara will remain as the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance and Planning despite speculation that he would be removed from duties.

The Following are the newly appointed secretaries

G.K.D. Amarawardena Secretary, Ministry of Cooperatives and Internal Trade
U.R Senevirathne Secretary, Ministry Productivity Promotion
Lalith Kannangara Secretary, Ministry of Indigenous Medicine
W.A.Nihal Somaweera Secretary, Ministry of Coconut Development and Janatha Estate Development
Wasantha Ekanayake Secretary, Ministry of Art and Cultural Affairs

These days the government is filling vacancies in the state sector including state banks very unfair manner even without giving an opportunity to the young intelligent applicants who do not have any political favors to apply these posts. As a citizen of this country i would like to ask from the government the criteria they have followed to fill the vacancies in the above ministries.
