School bus topples; injures 30

A school bus carrying at least 40 children collided with an oncoming car and had fallen down a 30 foot deep precipice in Kegalle this morning. Initial reports say that 30 children have been injured together with the driver of the car and have been admitted to the Kegalle base hospital for further treatment.

The car that collided was travelling from Avissawella to Anuradhapura, carrying a bridegroom and the best man, was speeding to get to their destination for the auspicious hour.The best man had been injured and was admitted to the hospital. (Sanath Desmond)

Driver of the bus must have tried to give room to the car but unfortunately it may have skidded and taken of the bus from the edge of the road and fallen to precipice. Problem here is despite demarcation of both ways of single Road with white strips No one is resorting to the line.

Poor children. Dont know who to blame Aney. Most of the times these bus drivers drive like mad fellows. Even car drivers same same.
