Monday 7 declared special holiday

The Labour and Labour Relations Minister Gamini Lokuge today said the  government had decided to declare Monday (7) a public and special bank holiday on account of the Wesak festival falling on Saturday and Sunday

Minister Lokuge requested the employers of the private and semi government sector to extend this privilege to their employees as well.

Well, SL is simply unbeatable when it comes to number of holidays. We are the world champions! By the way, Govt should remove all poya holidays except for Wesak & Poson. All religious holidays should be limited to 2 each.

SL do not have that much holidays like people said,other countries you have a month paid leave once you complete one year of work.That leave they travel other countries like SL,Malaysia etc.But during that year they work maximum whereas in SL no hard work like they do in there country.That is the differance.
