CID probes Danuna's accounts

E-mail Print

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today probed bank account details and safety deposit boxes maintained by Danuna Tilakaratne, the son-in-law of Sarath Fonseka being maintained at a private bank in Colombo, CID sources said.

Danuna Tilakaratne had allegedly earned money through commissions from weapons procurements he made for
the Sri Lankan military. It is reported that the CID had probed the account and the safe for more than three hours. (ISA)

During the war many made tons of money, including generals and brigadiers. So there is nothing surprising Sarath Fonseka's son in law also joined the fray.
